Project Live, in conjunction with the UPHS student assistance program, invites you to attend the Montgomery County Naloxone education and distribution event. Naloxone, more commonly referred to as Narcan, can reverse the effects of a heroin overdose.
Many police departments carry Narcan. The meeting will take place in the multipurpose room of the YMCA at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, March 13. Narcan will be distributed to participants who want to have it available. Pre-registration for this event is required and a link to the pre-registration website is available on the YMCA site as well as the high school website. Below is the link to the event flyer as well as the registration page. For more information contact, Katie Kucz: email@example.com.
The Upper Perkiomen High School SAP (Student Assistance Program) Team is a student assistance program consisting of school staff and community agency personnel whose mission is to identify and refer at-risk students to appropriate in-school or community services. Difficulties in school may be due to some of the following reasons: behavior problems, health issues including drug and alcohol use and mental health concerns, and attendance. The goal of SAP is to help students “get back on track” educationally through various support programs.
Students can be referred by school staff, parents, peers, or self-referral. A concerned individual may talk to any SAP member including the guidance counselors. Students may also place a referral form in the SAP box which is located in the library.
SAP members: Rob Carpenter, Todd Amsler, Joshua Miller, John Gunning, Kimberly Kelly, Leanne LeGendre, Angela Traub, Lora Mayer, Tasha Rushatz, Shane Thrush, Todd Nieman, Christa Paul, Megan Smolinski, Regina Lundquist, Jim McFadden, Katrina Harmon, Chad Rutherford, and Sulyn Godsey (Creative Health Services).
